I met this sweet couple right at the base of Glacier National Park. We had worked on location matchmaking ahead of time to get an idea of what the couple wanted. After having a traditional wedding, they really wanted to have an adventure, an experience NOT a photoshoot. Well you know us and that is exactly what they got with this Adventure Vow Renewal in Glacier National Park.

We talked about a couple different options for a national park elopement. Ultimately they skipped over Yosemite and were all in on Glacier. Alyssa, the ultimate stalker in the best way, pointed out some photos from my website of wedding ceremonies she saw at Glacier that really resonated with her. I took the pair out to Lake McDonald and we veered off on one of the secluded pullouts. From there, we ventured out to the water’s end, and found them a spot to share their vows. I gave them a respectful distance and watched as they shared, laughed, and cried. It was the sweeeetest thing. Pro tip- I used my 70-200mm lens for some of these pictures. This compressed the mountains and made it look that much bigger! These will be PERFECT photos for wall art!

Time to Romp!

Next it was time for an adventure!! We have a champagne pop! Alyssa is IN Lake McDonald kicking water at Greg. Greg stops to show Alyssa his impressive rock skipping skills. What I love is that it is so completely them. 

What is the timeline for vow renewal?

For this one, we have about an hour and a half at the Lake McDonald ceremony location. Took a half an hour spur of the moment (my favorite kind of moment) pit stop nearby for the rock photos. Then drove about 40 minutes for the Mission Mountain View Point where they romped around and explored. This was a half day elopement, although we did talk about the possibilities of adding lantern photos on!

Finding More Places for Their Adventure Vow Renewal in Glacier National Park

We had a few ideas of how the day was going to go, but Alyssa and Greg made it known they were up for any wild idea! On the river nearby, they walked out on a path made of rocks, laughing while trying not to slip the whole time. This was my first time meeting the couple after our many planning calls and it felt like we were all such good friends. I feel like I have done my job when my couples are able to be both goofy and lovey with each other.

After this adventure spot, Alyssa did a little shimmy out of her beautiful renewal dress and into some autumn attire for a couple session. Are the leaves changing in Glacier National Park? After their vow renewal, Alyssa and Greg were off to finish their romantic getaway at Quinn’s Hot Springs, about two hours west of Glacier. Vow renewals are so much fun and so intentional.
