Becky and Zach’s Little Smith Creek Ranch wedding is an unforgettable 10-hour celebration, capturing everything from their early morning hair and makeup sessions to their final dance of the night. On a stunningly beautiful, sunny summer day, we arrived at Little Smith Creek in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. The breathtaking views and the venue’s charming big top tent is an enchanting place in the mountains. With a western/rustic theme featuring wood and metal details, sage green bridesmaids’ dresses, and vibrant flowers in burgundy, white, and pink, every detail of Becky and Zach’s wedding is picture-perfect.
Warning: happy tears ahead
It’s a stunningly beautiful, sunny, summer day when we arrive at Little Smith Creek in the Bitterroot valley! Our favorite part about this venue are the views! The big top tent on site also offers a covered place for your reception dinner!
Becky & Zach decide on a western/rustic theme with wood and metal details. Sage green bridesmaids dresses with burgundy, whites and pinks for the flowers really made them pop. A rustic Little Smith Creek Ranch wedding is just the ticket!
We capture them getting ready with photos and video, which is so meaningful. Becky’s mom passed away earlier this year, but she was present in spirit with her dress hanging next to Becky’s wedding dress. Her photo is there too. Having lost my dad before my wedding as well, I feeeeeel those overwhelming feelings and I really loved how Becky memorialized her momma. There’s this feeling of emptiness, of happiness, but also of sadness when that one person you need there, can’t be there. I really admire Becky’s strength and vulnerability throughout her big day. (Love you, girl!) xo
This summer Little Smith Creek Ranch wedding is the best!
After the getting ready moments, Becky and Zach read letters to each other. Next, they meet for their first look at the top of a little hill! Zach sees his bride for the first time and is SO HAPPY to see her! Getting the best wedding photos with us means a lot of laughter and giving the couple a chance to really connect! It was no different with these two, except we felt like our cheeks were gonna FALL OFF with all the laughter!
Next, it’s ceremony time! Mom’s photo is on her chair where she would’ve sat at the ceremony and the wedding party leaves roses on her seat. Becky brought a trinket of her mom’s with her down the aisle attached to her bouquet. Moving doesn’t even BEGIN to cover it. Although she couldn’t physically be there, we all feel her mom’s presence every step of the way.
Becky beautifully memorialized her momma throughout the wedding
Becky is crafty AF and creates many of her wedding details herself! She found so many creative ways to use their engagement photos! They use them for custom cornhole sets, playing cards that their guests give them advice on, and photos at the tables as decor.
A memorial with photos is also there at the reception where everyone could go and celebrate Becky’s mom.
Later in the night, Zach surprises Becky with a BOUNCE HOUSE!!! YES!! You read that right, a bounce house! At the end of the night, they laugh together and bounce around. It’s pretty magical and suuuuch an amazing surprise!
pro tip: have a last dance, just for the two of you, at the end of your wedding day!
There’s seriously no better way to be intentional about your time than to spend the last moments together to reflect on your favorite parts of the day!
