Okay, where do I even start with Chelsea and Reuben?! I’ve been counting down the days to meet these two since the moment they inquired about their wedding at Firelight Farm in Bozeman. Some couples just click, and these two? Instant connection. They’re the kind of people who make you laugh until your stomach hurts, radiate kindness like it’s their job, and just feel like instant besties. Their winter Bozeman Montana engagement session? Absolutely next level.

Briger Mountains of Bozeman

Chelsea & Reuben are from California’s Napa Valley (cue the wine envy 🍷), and the one thing they want for their engagement photos? MOUNTAINS. And y’all, Montana delivers on that front. I make sure the Bridger mountain range is in the background for almost every shot, because, hello, snowy peaks! These two LOVE to travel the world and it means so much that they came to Montana, a special place to them, for their engagement session! 

Not gonna lie to you, it is chillyyyyy. It is snowy. It is so worth it. Thinking about location for these two, I’m looking for spots with a big return on investment! Meaning, we aren’t trekking miles in knee-deep snow, but we are still getting these epic backdrops. Mission accomplished.

And Reuben? Firefighter extraordinaire? Well, let’s just say he couldn’t resist a good fire hydrant joke mid-session. (Cue all of us losing our sh*t laughing—yes, the outtakes are gold.)

Western Vibes & Popping Champagne

Chelsea gets her hair and makeup done by Ceremony Bozeman, and HOLY. WOW. She looks stunning. (Not that she isn’t already, but damn, they deliver.) Their outfits? A cute little Western-inspired look that fit the Montana rustic vibes perfectly.And of course, because it’s one of my engagement sessions, we had to pop some champagne. It’s a signature move at this point, and these two nail it.

Firelight Farm: A Sneak Peek of the Wedding Venue

One of the coolest things we did? We actually take some engagement photos at their Bozeman wedding venue, Firelight Farm. I mean, how fun is it to capture their love now and then see how the place transforms on their big day?! The rustic barn, the moody winter light—it is all chef’s kiss perfection. Not to mention the “hot for cowboy” mood in the photos!

A two-hour winter engagement in Bozeman & the coziest ending

So, here’s the thing. I told them, “Yeah, an hour will be plenty.” LIES. Their session ends up being 2.5 hours because we are having too much fun and taking too many amazing photos. No regrets.

Lastly, we wrap up the night at Bozeman Distillery, where they sip on some adorable little cocktails and mocktails and just soak in the moment. Because that’s the thing about Chelsea & Reuben—they’re just so sweet, so in love, and just truly good humans.

I cannot wait for their wedding at Firelight Farm in April! We’re not just photographing it—we’re planning, designing, coordinating, and making the whole damn thing happen with our sis company, Wild Montana Wedding. It’s going to be EPIC, just like these two.
