We’re there for photo and video for these two beautiful humans. We seriously can’t even begin with this day! I mean WOW! Two fun-filled days getting to know them and their families, capturing their priceless wedding memories is one of our best memories of 2023! Kirsten & Mike’s wedding weekend is an adventure all the way through! Something that makes this day extra special is that it’s an all-inclusive Glacier National Park wedding! This means that we plan, design, AND document their day! Helloooo our Montana wedding planning company, Wild Montana Wedding! We can’t wait any longer to show you the goods, so let’s dive in!
DAY 1: Welcome partaaaay
It all starts the day before their wedding for their welcome party at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake! This group is ready to partaaaay and it kicks off with a sunset party on the lake! I get to play around with Kirsten, Mike, and their adorable son Hunter. Meeting them for the first time, it feels like we’ve known each other for years. I mean, after all we plan her wedding together (hellooooo Wild Montana Wedding)! We’re besties, it’s fiiiiine! And let’s be honest, this is just the start of their 2 day wedding adventure!
Day 2: Adventure wedding day!
Early in the day, we meet them on Whitefish Mountain in their gorgeous ski lodge AirBnB. The elevator is lined with old vintage skis. Full stop. There’s an elevator in this house! I see her dress and immediately take it downstairs for some detail photos in front of the fireplace. My immediate reaction? Holy sh*t this is going to be an amazing day!
Rue de Seine is one of my favorite wedding dress designers, and she’s rockin it along with her boots! Everybody needs to know where she got all of her apparel because it is beautiful! We’re talking tassles, lace, and the train is her own sexy b*tch in her own right! I’ll name the train Bianca. She’s a whole vibe. HA! I also love the way she has lace from her dress tied onto the brim of her hat. And I’m just like, GIRL YO FASHION SENSE! I need to get a piece. Kirsten is so fun and a ball of energy from the very beginning!
And I’m just like, GIRL YO FASHION SENSE!
We drive into Glacier National Park for their first look on the shores of Lake McDonald. (psssst. if you’re obsessed with Glacier, click here for all our favorite Glacier National Park spots) They didn’t want this pomp and circumstance, they didn’t want people watching them. They just wanted this moment for themselves. I go to the most secluded part of West Glacier that I know of and there isn’t anybody else on the beach. Mike predicts that the dress is going to be lacy and tight… and he was right! He turns around and they share a moment. From there, we adventure around Glacier National Park, driving up the Going to the Sun Road.
It’s high energy the entire time! Mike is picking her up, swinging her around, we’re doing ALL the things that make great wedding photos. This is as good as it’s going to get, these pictures are so beautiful and this couple is clearly so in love and so passionate. But little did I know that when we went to the river that Mike wants to get in the river. YES SIR WHATEVER YOU WANT. That’s the definition of an all-inclusive Glacier National Park wedding!
They get into the water. They’re in the river and being all sexy and adoralbe. We’re documenting the whole thing. It’s so cute. They are refreshed afterward. On the way to the venue, I’m driving them and they were talking about how happy they were that they did it! Yup, we’re ready to meet the family, ready for the ceremony!
pro tip: get in the river on your wedding day
Not only is it sexy and the pictures are beautiful, the scientific fact that your blood stream gets a jolt when you jump into a cold plunge. On such a long day, it makes so much sense. Mike knew what he was doing.
The rest of the wedding day is a completely happy blur! The ceremony is absolutely stunning with the mountains in the background. They say their vows to each other with so much laughter and love. Bespoke Ceremonies creates a beautiful ceremony for them. Their family looks on, clearly so excited for them! They practically dance down the aisle and pop the champagne and pour the tower, kicking off their cocktail hour! That’s our new signature look – the champagne tower isn’t going anywhere! I love it!
The rest of the wedding day is a completely happy blur!
They spend their cocktail hour laughing, spending quality time with guests and snacking the delicious appetizers from Kopper Kitchen! The band, HEDDERICK, starts playing and it’s a blast! While they eat dinner under the big sky, we hear everybody laughing and enjoying Montana. We sneak off with the couple for more fun and photos before we get them back to their night of dancing! They dance the night away with the best dance moves we’ve ever seen!
