Gift Guide for Elopement Photographers: Travelers
Monos is a Must
We are starting with the basics here. We are OBSESSED with our Monos bags AND the packing cubes.
They are built last, have a sleek look, and of course are sustainable. Monos’ motto (say that three times fast) is “We’re all guests on this planet, so it’s our responsibility to tread lightly and give back.” We support a company who supports the planet. That simple. Learn more about our conscious tourism philosophy.
If you haven’t heard of Scrubba we are here to blow your mind. The Scrubba wash bag allows you to wash clothes anywhere IE traveling, backpacking, camping. ANYWHERE! It provides a machine quality wash in just minutes. Simply add water, clothes and cleaning liquid, close the bag and deflate. Rub the clothes against the internal washboard for 30s to 3min, rinse and hang to dry.
We know this isn’t the sexiest gift to get. But neither is being dirty and stinky. Throw the Scrubba in the stockings. Trust us, traveling has never been the same.
The weatherproof, all-season puffy Rumpl blankets are engineered to take on any adventure. Mine has gone international a few times! Not only is it the BEST blanket it is also, you guessed it, an environmentally responsible business. The blankets use 100% post-consumer recycled materials and the business recycles over 5 million discarded plastic bottles through their supply chain every year.
Geo Original Rumpl Cost: $125.00
Gift Guide for Elopement Photographers: Camera Equipment
Our buddies at The Photographer’s Passport break it down, “If you want a camera that you know is going to produce really great travel photos, for the everyday consumer there are two clear choices, either a DSLR or mirrorless camera. There are pros and cons to both options but when it comes to travel photography I believe that a mirrorless camera is the better option. Both cameras are capable of extremely high image quality and in many ways are very similar. Though one defining factor that means that mirrorless cameras are much more suited to travel photography, is their size and weight.” If mirrorless is for you, we recommend the Nikon Z 7II FX-Format Mirrorless camera body.
Our favorite accessories to go along with the Nikon are:
The EN-EL15c is a Rechargeable Lithium-ion battery for use with select Nikon cameras. It can be charged using either the MH-25a battery charger or the EH-7P charging AC adapter when used with Nikon cameras that have the capability to charge batteries in-camera.
On a Z camera with the Mount Adapter FTZ, compatible F-Mount NIKKOR lenses retain all of their sharpness and superb rendering power. Plus, they gain so much—smooth, fast Hybrid-AF, silent shooting, breakthrough low-light performance, the benefits of the camera’s built-in VR image stabilization and more.
Even MORE of our favorite camera gifts
Bring your digital camera back to life with a new battery. Make sure you never miss another once-in-a-lifetime moment by having a new EN-EL15C battery specifically designed for your Nikon digital camera. GRIP IT. WRAP IT. STAND IT. Rubberized rings and foot grips provide enhanced stability in difficult terrain. Wrappable legs allow you to secure professional camera equipment to virtually any surface.
The peak design tripod is ACTUALLY portable, what a concept! All photographs know the struggle of the tripod so we are THRILLED to share our travel tripod with you. We especially lean on the tripod with night photography. The longer exposure times require a motionless camera. Capture a perfect starry night elopement photo every time! PS – it also isn’t the worst idea if your a two photographer team to have one photographer use the tripod to capture the elopement ceremony.

100 Hikes of a Lifetime
To say this book was life changing is an understatement. It is informative, adventurous, and straight up GORGEOUS. Every hiker needs a copy for their coffee table. Pick up a copy at your local bookstore- shop small, smile big. Elopement photographers talk a lot about client gifts, if you are looking for a gift for the gift giver – this is it!
Let’s be real. This is the tip of the iceberg on our favorite hiking gear. If you want even MORE IDEAS, check out our Ultimate Adventure Elopement Gear Guide.
Gift Guide for Elopement Photographers: Experience Junkies
I said it in Costa Brava, I said it in Iceland, I will say it everywhere I go. I think the most important thing that I like about being an elopement photographer is this chance for you to travel to another place and that leads you to this opportunity to soak in the culture, the sites, the smells, the sounds, all these things. When you’re able to travel to another country, you are learning about more than just yourself through this adventure.
Clearly experience motivated people, every elopement photograph can use an experience for themselves. Book that helicopter ride, take that cruise, explore a new trail together. Plan an evening picnic, take a bike ride together, hop a vespa. We spend HOURS to DAYS coming up with adventures for our couples, now it’s our turn!
Slip an experience into an envelope to get the “opening” effect and then enjoy it later! We also have a couple physical gifts for our experience junkies on our gift guide for elopement photographers if that is more your style.
Instax Mini Evo Instant Film Camera
Not a tween’s polaroid camera, the Instax Mini Evo Instant Film Camera is fun but also more advanced for the experience lover in your life. Adjust the exposure, alter the white balance, turn the flash on or off, even select Macro Mode when the mood calls for a close-up. Click, print, cherish forever.
The Trail Journal
The Trail Journal is designed to not only record your hikes, but to get you thinking a little deeper about your surroundings, your thoughts, and even yourself. A different prompt on each page makes it effortless to write a meaningful journal entry every time.
