So, picture this: you’re strolling through the enchanting streets of Barcelona, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the Gothic Quarter, when suddenly, you stumble upon a scene straight out of a fairytale. No, seriously, it’s like a scene from a rom-com, only better because it’s real life! Let me paint the picture for you: Barcelona elopement in the Gothic Quarter – cue the swoons!
OMG it is like so crazy how fast it went! We act as the tour guides for Raley & Zoe’s Barcelona stop-over and then they just so happen to have a beautiful little wedding ceremony! It is LITERALLY a dream vacation and they getting married on top. They were on a mediterranean cruise for a few days before disembarking in Barcelona. On the last stop before they got on the airplane to head back home, they got off the boat and THEY GOT FUCKIN MARRIED! Exploring the culture in Barcelona is one of our favorite things, so we spent time finding them the perfect restaurant for tapas, and taking them to the essential root of all Barcelona culture!

We meet them at the Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower, one of the few five star hotels in Barcelona. They have a first look right in the hotel room. The first thing Raley says when he sees Zoe is “you look so pretty!” It’s true too! Now, let’s talk fashion, because Zoe, the bride, deserves a whole paragraph dedicated to her style game. None of that traditional wedding dress nonsense for her – oh no. She strutts her stuff in a flamenco-inspired sheath dress with ruffles that could rival the waves of the Mediterranean Sea. Seriously, this girl is a vision!

Fast forward to the main event – the ceremony. We cruise to Parc del Laberint d’Horta where we meet up with James, our officiant from The Wedding Man. We explore the labyrinth and find a tucked away, secluded spot for their ceremony. Water trickles into a pond in the background, the reflection on the pond is absolutely stunning. The beautiful old architecture of these buildings really bring us back to another time. This spot is definitely featured in our Spain elopement guide because DUH it’s one of our fav Barcelona hangouts!
We find a bench close by and they read their vows (which they brought with them alllll the way from America). It’s super beautiful, everybody tears up and it’s such a sweet moment. It’s one of the things we love about elopements, honestly! That our couples can truly take a minute and be present with only each other is such a rare thing! This whole day was 100% for them, but this vow moment… this is REALLY FOR THEM.
Next, we hop in our teeny tiny Fiat (like literally the smallest one they’ve likely ever made), and drive to the Barcelona Cathedral. It wouldn’t be a Barcelona elopement in the Gothic Quarter without it! Again, we are blown away by the architecture, completed in 1448! It’s nighttime by the time we’re rolling in and it’s moody and beautiful!
Pro tip: Hire a photographer who knows how to use lights becaaaaause you’ll definitely need it!
The thing we love about Raley & Zoe is they “go with the flow.” They’re super chill and easy about everything. The girl is walking around in her bare feet because she doesn’t want her feet to rub. They take everything we throw at them and laugh at everything.
