The long, sandy shore of Cannon Beach is absolutely magical at sunset. The sun is peaking through the clouds, with the golden light shining through. Haystack Rock is the geological icon we always look for on the coast and it “rocks” it (see what I do there?). We luck out with the perfect weather for this Cannon Beach adventure session. The weather is warm enough that after running around barefoot, we’re all a little sweaty and sun soaked. It’s like we’re here on the beach with a couple of our longtime friends.

Jenny & Bruce are just the sweetest couple and came with the perfect props for their adventure couple session. Jen brings hats, blankets, jackets, and the most gorgeous seafoam colored dress from Asos. The dress is perfect for spinning and is lined with beading. It’s honestly one of the coolest dresses we’ve ever seen.

They visit Cannon Beach for special occasions, so it is the perfect place for their adventure session. We start at Cannon Beach and we immediately obsess with Haystack Rock. It is one of the most popular beaches in Oregon and now we know why! It’s so epic! Puffins (Jake’s favorite coastal bird) fly around Haystack Rock and we soak in the view.

We drive up the coast to another dark n’ moody beach with dark coastal cliffs and a white sandy beach. Along the cliffs, we see a baby seal. Insert freakout here. He is seriously the cutest thing we’ve ever seen in our lives, but we worry that he might be hurt or in distress. We call the authorities and learn that during calving season, it is typical for momma seals will beach their babies. They do this to keep them safe from predators in the water. They advise us to leave him be, so after sitting with him for a minute, we go about our business along the beach.

You could just tell that these two have a happy marriage. They can just “be” with each other. They don’t need prompts, they don’t need much direction. Jenny & Bruce could soak in the time together and be perfectly happy to adventure. They are truly taken with each other. It is basically so fuckin adorable!
