Our journey with these two adventurous souls starts waaaaay back when we photographed their Montana winter wedding. To say that we vibe right away with these two is an understatement. Their sense of humor keeps us laughing every time we’re together and I mean, look at them! They are just so damn cute together! We are exploring California in an adventure van (cue my life long dream), and of course meet up with these two for a Carlsbad Cliffs adventure session.
When we were there for our van trip, we spend a lot of time in Carlsbad. Our favorite places are the Shoppes at Carlsbad which give Kelsey’s swimsuit game a refresh and Clara Restaurant where she also tried eggplant parmesan for the first time. No offense to Clara, but it’s not for her.
carlsbad is on our favorite west coast elopement spots
Something we love about this area are the facilities (ahem, bathrooms & showers) along the Carlsbad State Beach and the campgrounds. Showers operate with tokens, so be sure to check in with the ranger station to get yours. If you plan on eloping in San Diego, you know that beaches don’t always have facilities for use, so we appreciate that when we find them.
The views of the Carlsbad Cliffs is something we never saw before, and we loooved it. The little beach town is exploding with boutique shops, great beach life, and lots of tasty restaurants. It’s one of our very favorite west coast elopement spots! Beaches are broken up by orange, textured sea walls of sedimentary rock, which makes this a unique place for a Carlsbad Cliffs adventure session. We pull over to the side of the road in our van, eat fish tacos while staring at the ocean, and then have some fun!
We love spending time with M & C, laughing, toasting their awesomeness, and even getting a little wet in the surf. San Diego, and Carlsbad specifically, is seriously one of our very favorite spots on the west coast.
