We love a young love turned forever love story. Emma and Matt met when they were 17! They started off as friends, convinced they would go into college single. However, after spending time together and accompanying each other to prom, they looked at each other and decided to give it a go! They took that love through all four years at college and Matt put THAT ring on her finger. Next up – a Firelight Farm Wedding in Bozeman!
Before we get to the wedding day, check out their Bozeman engagement session! We find a perfect spot in the mountains around Bozeman to romp around!
Location Matchmaking
When it came to wedding planning, Emma and Matt had a shorter list of who they wanted to be there. Sending out Little Page invites with a kiss to 65 friends and family, they expected closer to 50 to make the trek to Firelight Farm wedding in Bozeman, Montana. They envisioned an intimate, romantic wedding followed by a fun and lighthearted reception. Wild Montana Wedding is the planning arm that puts together all the big and small details. Honeybee Weddings is the camera arm making sure that the couple will remember all the big and small details.
Emma and Matt are basically the funniest, sweetest people ever!! I mean Matt is from Canada so we’re talking Canadian nice! Jake and I photographed this one together. I planned, designed, and had my team at Wild Montana Wedding coordinate! It was an all hands on deck affair and I LOVED every single second of it!
The Wedding Vision
After laughing through the entire consult call, my cheeks HURT! I was so excited about them. They had this VISION for their day that was truly authentic. Emma and Matt knew exactly what they were looking for with their Firelight Farm Wedding in Bozeman. They want a really cool destination that none of their family had been to, and a Firelight Farms wedding it is. Emma and Matt envisioned an elevated affair but not stuffy, which is something Wild Montana does so well.

Firelight Farm Details
Wild Montana is all about a beautifully handcrafted unique to them day. For their firelight farm wedding, we had an adorable mobile bar out of a horse trailer on the lawn of the firelight farm, shoutout to 406 Mobile! The AMAZING Gather catering utilized sustainably sourced Montana grown ingredients. For custom signature cocktails, the groom had his favorite whiskey. It feels like Mark Twain like with the whisky and we are SOLD. Mark Twain once wrote, “Love seems the swiftest, but it is the slowest of all growths” which reminds us of Emma and Matt.
The wedding design included beautiful wooden accents and babies’ breath by Bittersweet Gardens. The couple eyed warm neutrals for their color palette. On the planning side, I want it to feel memorable and intentional. The fire pit was lit at night, creating a warm and soft environment for guests to mingle, reminisce, and laugh. Rentals for the occasion were provided by Montana Party Rents. Whether we are planning an elopement or wedding, we make sure it’s very experience based.
Getting Ready for the Firelight Farm Wedding in Bozeman
We start Emma and Matt’s Firelight Farm wedding day with grazing boards in both the bride and groom’s suites – no one goes hangry on their wedding day! The wedding party was full of laughter and there wasn’t a sassy bridesmaid or a drunk groomsmen to be found! Emma and Matt surround themselves with good company. The bridesmaids wore sage green which was complemented by the farmhouse vibe. As for our lovely bride, Emma, she was RADIANT! The wedding dress is by Grace Loves Lace, which is ethically and sustainably sourced. Her natural makeup was done by Fumi Makeup and her blonde hair was slightly braided by Kristen Madigan. She was BEAUTIFUL!
Preparing for a First Look
This first look had me really feeling like Joe in YOU with my huge lens on. The stalker vibes are quickly replaced though as I watched Emma and Matts’s faces light up to see each other. It’s really sweet when the couple takes a minute to talk to each other before the wedding day. The backdrop is beautiful, but the way that they are hanging out- they are clearly best friends. You could put them anywhere, and they would be happy.
If you are considering a first look, that’s our big pro first look – you actually get to hang out with your best friend longer. On one of the biggest days of your life like that’s the whole thing- you with your best friend!
Officiating the Firelight Farm Wedding in Bozeman
When the time came to say “I do”, Emma’s lawyer brother officiated the Firelight Farm wedding and had everyone in tears with laughter as he joked about the contracts of the wedding. Emma and Matt walked down the aisle arm in arm, cheesing.
The Firelight Farms Wedding in Bozeman’s venue includes a modern barn separated with an upstairs and a downstairs. This created a great divide between the cocktail party and the dancing fueled by Joe’s DJ service. You could feel the fun everywhere you went! Also, the sunset on their firelight farm wedding was fucking epic. We had the golden light, the signature champagne pop, and so many sweet kisses.
SOAP BOX – It was just an overall just amazing day! My husband, Jake, and I photographed it together and for us, being husband and wife, and photographing a husband and wife, it truly the best. I have the most fun when I’m with him because he’s my best friend. BASICALLY it’s like a double date all day with like the coolest people ever! Being able to be part of Matt and Emma’s day with not only the planning of the design but then photographing it at the end, DREAMS! Your wedding planner also being your photographer is a next level experience because no one is going to know you better than your planner. Not to mention it was a BLAST planning this Firelight Farm Wedding in Bozeman!
