When Kelly and Eddie approached us for a National Park Wedding in Glacier we had two words for them. Fuck. Yes!!!!!!!!! We love GPN, it’s in our backyard of Montana, so you are getting the expert’s experience. Now these Florida locals choose this as a destination location, but they told us ahead of time that it was their FAVORITE national park. Your favorite person and your favorite place are gonna be your favorite wedding day. Hands down. The problem? Life is unpredictable. And so is the weather.
Now, Kelly and Eddie are TROOPERS! They stated from the start that they ain’t worried about high summer temps. Love that. So Mother Nature said, “Boo! What about the cold?” Hive photographer Erin was ground level with the loverbirds and said the day was 42 degrees! IN THE FREAKING SUMMER! It was rainy and windy, but you know what we say to that? Rain on your wedding day is lucky AF. Kelly and Eddie agreed. You couldn’t even tell they were freezing their butts off; they had huge smiles on their faces all day!
For this National Park Wedding in Glacier, our fabulous couple stayed at the Many Glacier Hotel, a recommendation we will make 10/10 times for both place to stay AND as a wedding venue. It basically invented the term iconic. It was built by the Great Northern Railway in 1914-15 and partially renovated in 2016. IE, the kind of architecture you can’t get today with the amenities you couldn’t get then. Win-win.
Pssst this wasn’t our first rodeo at the Many Glacier Hotel, we had a real-life hootenanny there!
Why have a traditional ceremony followed by a reception when you can literally do anything you want? Have your cake and eat it too! This pair opted for the party first.
This couple started with exploration! We hit up Going-to-the-Sun Road and we were able to squeeze in some tunnel shots! Even though it was a rainy day, the park was still busy. Our advice is to always plan your National Park Wedding in Glacier for a weekday. Although some elopements can take place during the off-season, when the area is less crowded, this is not an option at our beautiful Many Glacier, which remains closed for most of the Winter.
If you’re wondering where is the best place to get married in Glacier National Park we gotchu:
After taking some rainy photos, we headed back to the Many Glacier Hotel as it started pouring down, and you couldn’t see any of the mountains! Mother Nature, I tell yeah…
Our bride was a total badass. She took a blow dryer to her dress pre-ceremony, which worked quite well! While the guests were getting ready, this couple took some of the BEST photos in the hotel. Multi-location weddings are the way to go!
They had about fifteen guests for the ceremony, and it was no frills. You can tell this couple was madly in love, and their ceremony was short and to the point. They do. Forever. Let’s pop some champagne on the porch now!! Hive photographer Erin was obsessed with them.
The couple did have some time for private vows as well, which was so sweet. After their photography ended, they shared that they were going to pull an all-nighter (hell yeah!) and then catch a flight to Seattle for an Alaskan Cruise!! I hope they see a bear.
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer for a National Park Wedding in Glacier, let’s chat! I can’t promise you the weather, but I can promise you and your honey will have the time of your lives and the pictures to prove it.
