Listen up, cause I have a story you’re going to want to hear. It involves Andy and Madison, if you don’t know them yet, you soon will. I met this pair over in Jackson Hole, Wyoming IE backyard of fricken Grand Teton National Park where their slogan is stay wild. Is there anything else more perfect? The mountain range – absolutely insane. Dandy Andy reached out to me a few months ago and he wanted a mountain view for his girlfriend, Madison. If you haven’t heard yet, we SPECIALIZE in Surprise Proposals on a Mountaintop. Next to one, on top of one, if there is a mountain, we will capture the magic. This proposal in Grand Teton was no different.

First off, this couple, chef’s kiss. Andy and Madison are adventurers in their souls. They flew in from freaking FLORIDA!!! Made their pit stop in Montana and drove an S shape through Yellowstone and to Grand Tetons.

Andy and I had done extensive location matchmaking, there are so many great areas on that route. We talked about the similarities and differences between Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Andy, knowing his sweet fiancé to be, decided on the epicness of the Grand Teton mountains.

What a Proposal in Grand Teton looks like

I flew in the afternoon before; your girl has to check out what she’s working with, boots on the ground yeah know? The mountains – every bit as majestic as Andy and Madison deserve. The forecast gives some good options. The vibes – HIGH as Snoop. However, shit can’t ever be smooth. Where would the fun be in that! So, for this proposal adventure, I go early in the morning to make sure the mountains are right where I left them. Well, they are but they aren’t.

Despite the (useless) Weather Channel app telling me there were 10 miles of visibility, in actuality, there was 0 miles of visibility around the Tetons. Well fuck, a problem to solve! I rub my hands together, down an overpriced latte, do a little sun dance, and go to work.

Fun fact there are multiple locations for where to propose in Grand Tetons. I cruise around and check them out. I do test shots at multiple stops to make sure they work and aren’t cut off by fricken clouds. The proposer and I will talk about the vision, I’ll find the location!

Well, low and behold, as the day progresses, my sun dance has worked! In Jackson Hole, the clouds start to burn off and we are BACK to the original spot. Although now I have really cool photos from other spots too.

Madison Says YES to her Proposal in Grand Teton!!

The day ends up absolutely magical. Andy is the proposer of dreams. He texts me so many updates throughout the day, so I know down to the second where he’s at. It’s really sweet to see how excited he is. I love surprises so I’m doing everything I can to facilitate this. Our man drops to his knee, ring outstretched, Madison is so surprised, she says yes immediately!!!

I pop out, say, “HiImKelseyHeresSomeChampagne” and we are immediately friends. I asked Madison how surprised she was, and she jokes, “yeah I’m surprised, I would have showered!”

TBH she is someone with perfect hair so you’d never know it, but she was cracking me up. The newly engaged love birds were set to go to a fancy dinner at night, so they had an outfit change ready. BIG CLAPS for the planning here.

I said my goodbyes and went into town to check it out. When I got there, I was STUNNED. It’s the sweetest little town filled with magically Christmas lights flickering everywhere. I had to call Madison and Andy.

A Downtown Engagement Session

Downtown Jackson Hole is so romantic and it feels like this old timey place. Cue Taylor Swift’s vault track – Timeless! It was just next level special, a perfect place to be after a proposal in Grand Teton. I told Andy and Madison that we should totally take this party downtown before dinner!! It was the perfect time and place to get an entirely different set of pictures.

First was the marriage proposal, now are the ENGAGEMENT photos!!! We’re romping around and they are celebrating! One of the coolest places we stumble upon is Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. It’s this amazing marquee; it’s got a bucking Bronco and a cowboy lit up on the top of it. They dance, they dip, they dine, and they are madly in love. I was so glad I got to be part of their best day ever!!
