If you’re ever in need of an unconventional wedding destination, look no further than a Sleeping Child Hot Springs wedding. It’s a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere, located in the Bitterroot Valley, Montana. We mean that in the best way possible. To get there, you have to navigate down a dirt road, deep into a wooded forest, and you’ll be wondering if you’re in the right place. But then, like magic, it just appears before your eyes, and you find yourself in this absolutely beautiful venue. We’re definitely adding this to our list of the best Montana wedding venues!
Now, let me paint you a picture of this place. It’s like a castle with a twist. It’s five stories tall, complete with an elevator – because who wants to climb stairs on a wedding day, right? There are around 20 rooms or so, and each one is a cozy little haven. But the real kicker is that there’s no cold water at this venue. Nope, you’re in for a treat because it’s all about the hot stuff – hot tubs, hot springs, and a swimming pool. It’s like they heard the mantra, “Hot water, hot water everywhere,” and took it to heart.
Hive Photographer, Landon, crushed it!
So, let’s dive into the shenanigans of the day. The morning started with everyone getting to know the lovely couple. We even took a ride up that fancy elevator to the top floor, surrounded by natural rocks and the stunning scenery of yellows, oranges, and reds – courtesy of the fall season. Landon, our Hive Photographer KILLED IT all day with documenting the fun and the gorgeousness! He’s making the couple laugh all day long and creating some stunning imagery! I (Kelsey, heeeey!) tagged along for the fun too!
Now, I must tell you about the Sleeping Child Hot Springs wedding itself. The first look was heartwarming. Keegan, the groom, was trying his best to keep it together while everyone around was taking bets on when he’d finally break down in tears. Spoiler alert: no tears during the first look. It was all cute and cuddles. They held each other, embraced, and that took a few precious minutes.
a burst of yellows, oranges, and reds for a fall Montana wedding
The wedding was a sight to behold because it was a burst of yellows and oranges in the flower arrangements, and they didn’t stop there. The bride, in a bold move, sported some fabulous blue eyeshadow, adding a punch of color to the mix.
Originally, they planned to have the ceremony out on the lawn field, but the rain changes the plan. They move it to the glass atrium. And you know what? It turned out to be an intimate, beautiful wedding. With approximately 30 people in attendance, it was all about close family and friends.
Oh, and speaking of the weather, it was one of those moody, overcast days that photographers absolutely adore. It added a certain drama to the whole affair. Before joining their guests, H&K treat themselves to a private first dance upstairs in the atrium. Insert all the happy tears here. The first dance is such a meaningful wedding tradition and they put their own flair on it.
Silk Road Catering was in charge of the pasta bar, and their guests brought their A-game to the desserts, courtesy of a talented friend. It was clear that everyone was there for a relaxing weekend by the pool and to celebrate these two fantastic human beings. And what’s a wedding without a little late-night adventure? They ended the night by taking an impromptu dip in the pool – wedding attire and all!
these moody, overcast days are a photographer’s dream
Now, let’s talk speeches. Keegan really let it all hang out. He shared childhood confessions that even his family didn’t know about. The result? Laughter. Lots and lots of laughter. It was like a stand-up comedy show, but with more sentimental value.
The rain continues to fall after dinner, and Landon makes the most of it by taking some moody, romantic, and steamy photos outside. As the light faded, we busted out our off-camera flash to work some magic. Pro tip: hire a photographer who knows their way around a flash. It can be a game-changer, especially when you’re trying to capture all those unforgettable moments.
pool jump for the win!
So there you have it, the tale of a Sleeping Child Hot Springs wedding. Who would have thought that in the middle of nowhere, you’d find a place so enchanting and full of surprises? It just goes to show that love knows no bounds, even in the quirkiest of wedding venues. Nothing beats a full wedding day!
