We have been planning this surprise hiking proposal with Dalton for MONTHS. It all started when Dalton reached out to us to help him plan a once in a lifetime Glacier National Park proposal for his girlfriend.
But let’s back it up a bit. Their love story is pretty fuckin awesome. As soon as Dalton saw Janele, his immediate thoughts where, “wow, who is that?!” He is immediately drawn to her, and she thinks he is really cute. It isn’t a good time for them to immediately date, so they leave as friends. As time goes on, it’s tough for them to contain themselves as friends. As soon as Janele becomes available, Dalton tells her, “I have to take you out to dinner.”
They have Maine oysters on their first date, and a week later, they take a trip to Maine. They’ve been traveling ever since. It is completely appropriate that they plan a trip to Glacier National Park and Dalton plans the most epic surprise proposal.
Fast forward to September 2021.
They plan a trip to Glacier National Park and Dalton just knows that this is the perfect time to pop the question at his surprise hiking proposal to Avalanche Lake. Glacier made our list of best US mountain elopement locations and you’ll see why!
I start the hike an hour before, just to make sure I am at the lake before they get there, waiting for them to arrive. I know it’s them as soon as they get there because I asked Dalton for a selfie of the two of them, and a picture of their backpack. It’s all very scientific. (insert sarcasm here)
I scout out the best place for me to hideout to get the perfect view. He gets down on one knee, and asks her to marry him. She says YES! She says yes with happy tears and hugs! She says yes at the top of a mountain. She says yes to the epic adventure. I think the laughter and happy tears speak for themselves. So scroll down to see her reaction!
