Two Day Elopement Photography

Hi adventure peeps! Are you ready for a two day elopement? We are committed to creating a meaningful, once in a lifetime experience for you on your wedding day and there’s no better way to celebrate your day than to make it a two day elopement! Below we will be breaking down the elopement timeline and sharing why two days is the way to go. Let’s celebrate your love in a truly unforgettable and adventurous way!

The beauty in getting ready

Day 1 is all about the I DO! But, there is so much magic before you even get there! In the first hour, we capture all the getting ready details of your elopement day, whether you get together separately or together. This can include photos of your dress, the rings, vow books, all the details you want to remember. This is your wedding day!

Next, we capture magic (maybe tears!) of the first look. This can be done outside the picturesque air bnb. Take the time to stroll around the property, cheers with your favorite morning drink, snuggle with your pets, hug your kids! We want to get the YOU right from the start.

We recommend using an Air BnB because you can typically get closer to your elopement destination, sometimes right on the mountain! Choosing the Air BnB for your love story can also capture unique photos, with beautiful backdrops. Think – rustic fences, candle lit staircases, classic porch swings, roaring fireplaces, funky couches! Endless possibilities, my friends.

Embarking on your next adventure

Three hours into day one of your two day elopement, it’s time for the adventure to begin. Hop in the car and drive up a gorgeous mountain pass to start a hike. We love watching our couples take their time soaking in view points and enjoying snacks. We are flies on the wall capturing all your honest moments together. Being able to have a longer elopement allows us to dedicate time to spontaneity. This is so important that we actually build spontaneity into the elopement timeline! You can watch the deer go by, toss goldfish (the snacks) into each other’s mouths, dip a toe into the lake. It’s your time to enjoy and be you.

While you’ve been focusing on the hike, each other, and the views, we’ve been capturing it all with our handy backpack system. The goal is for you to be enjoying the adventure whether in Joshua Tree or Maui! Our job is to do the heavy lifting. About two hours from sunset, our eyes are on the lookout for a perfect elopement spot. We will find the location that makes you feel on top of the world! 

Sweet ceremonies aren’t rushed

After the day together, WE FIND IT! That perfect spot to say vows for your ceremony. The light is golden (cue Harry Styles), the air is crisp. Pull out your vows, look into each others’ eyes and YOU. GET. MARRIED. Taking the time to breatheeee. You make promises to each other, place the rings on your fingers and we’ve captured your sweet moments. You are able to soak it all in as a married couple. After a bit of alone time together, some exploring around the ceremony area, enjoying sunset, maybe a quick makeout sesh, we head back down the mountain.

After 8 hours, it’s getting dark. Put on that headlamp and hike to the bottom of the trail where we’ll take photos with stars shining down on you. At 10 hours into the perfect elopement day, you lovebirds are famished! We will drive to a nearby restaurant to fix your hangry. There, yuou can have a first drink, celebrate, clink, cheers! Heck maybe do a first dance in the foyer with some random music. Have you ever wished your life was a romcom? Time to make it one! Or maybe there’s a first dance song ready to go that we play under stars. Ending a magical first day with a magical moment.

You need a day after adventure session

While day one is filled with love and ceremony, day two is all about being you! There is only so much time on the wedding day, so getting those photos in the epic place you wanted might not be able to happen. Insert the day after session. You traveled to an amazing location but there’s still so much left to explore. These are the meaningful moments that will kick off your marriage and we want to work with you to make a space to make the memories you’ll look back on throughout your lives together. Perhaps you’re an adventurous couple – this is the day to go on a boat tour in Italy, canoe across Alpine Lake, helicopter over waterfalls, off-road in the mud, mountain bike in the desert – just watch out for the snakes!!
